Simplicity Homecare Donates to Niņos y Niņas de Mexico

Updated April 2006

Recently, Simplicity Homecare donated 16 SW210 sewing machines and 3 SL390 sergers to Niņos y Niņas de Mexico, a program operated through Poor Handmaids of Christ in Queretaro, Mexico. Niņos y Niņas de Mexico allows women to improve their sewing skills by teaching them new sewing techniques, as well as how to market their skills to start and maintain a business or receive a well-paying job.

Niņos y Niņas de Mexico works primarily with children and single mothers who make a living selling candy on the street, so the skills and abilities that women learn through this program open the door for opportunities and empowerment. Additionally, this program gives participants the opportunity to interact and befriend other women who have faced similar hardships throughout their lives. Simplicity Homecare supports this enriching program, and we're glad that our machines can help make a difference.
